The Brave

Ever since I was little I have been surrounded by the most selfless people, firemen. My Grandfather, Uncles and Father have all been or still are a part of the FDNY. Being around firemen has made me realize what they truly go through. Not only do they rush into fires without second guessing, they work 24 hour shifts, go to intense training, break down rubble to get to victims, attend countless funerals and support the families and friends of those who have fallen.

Photographing alongside firemen was more eye opening than I thought. Seeing how hard they work at training, how they treat others or strangers and the support they give each other was incredible. It’s hard to imagine how hard they work, and what they actually do unless you are with them during it. I have a lot more respect and trust now in those who are willing to risk their lives for ours.  I am documenting the life of firemen from an inside perspective to show the world that they are truly the Brave.
